Land Rover Sales Jan-Jun 2017

Rodeo Drive perhaps, or maybe La Condamine

Land Rover was up 9% in June, although down 4% YTD. The end of the Defender and a gap between Discovery 4 and 5 were the reasons for that. With the Disco 5 winding up and the Velar about to hit the ground, the second six months will be busy.

Models:

Apart from the two above mentioned models, all others improved on 2016, albeit somewhat modestly. The Range Rover was the stand out with a 12% increase. This year LR has has been accounting for 70% of JLR sales, down recently on a sales surge from stablemate Jaguar. That seems to be leveling off and with the new models it may even take some of that percentage back.

Summary: Just as Jaguar settles down after a strong period of growth, Land Rover kicks in with two new models. In 2016, JLR reached 583,000 sales and for 2017 the 600k mark should be passed without raising a sweat. LR did 435,000 of the 2016 total and in 2017, I envisage that record will be broken but whether the 450k mark will be reached I'm unsure.
